4/4. The Mersey Sound. Liverpool 8, now commonly known as Toxteth, was the birthplace of this book of poems in 1967. Joan Bakewell takes Roger McGough and Brian Patten , two of the poets responsible for this anthology, back to Brian's attic flat where the book was born, and they revisit the Everyman Theatre, where the two were contemporaries of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
