A series of ten programmes. 9: Living Memory
During the 1920s and 30s thousands of men and women crossed the Irish Sea in search of a new and better life, but sometimes they exchanged rural poverty and a close-knit family for lonely digs and a menial job. Eventually they settled down and had families, but even after 50 years here many wish to return home - if only to be buried.
Their story is told by the Age Exchange Theatre Company - and by the individuals themselves.
