Painting the Weather

on BBC Four

As part of a collaborative venture with London's National Gallery, museums around the country and BBCi - as well as digital and terrestrial television channels - this first of four nightly programmes allows viewers to sample works portraying weather scenes by both famous and lesser-known artists. Storm. The first film includes works by Howard Hodgkin, John Martin and Philip de Loutherberg.
