Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance

on BBC One London

Raymond Baxter describes the scene in the Royal Albert Hall , London as members of the Royal British Legion assemble for their annual Festival of Remembrance. The State
Trumpeters herald the arrival of HM the Queen, HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and other members of the Royal Family.
The Massed Bands of the Guards Division play as representatives of the Royal
British Legion, the Royal Navy, the Army, the Royal Air Force, the Civilian Services, and the Chelsea Pensioners proudly muster with their standards on the stage of the hall, and there are contributions from many branches of the armed services.
Conducting the service is the Rt Rev Michael Mann , assisted by the Rev Dr William Davies and the Rev Anthony Smith. It culminates with a moment's silence as thousands of poppy petals fall in memory of the lives that were lost in combat over the years.
The festival is under the direction of Lt Col PC E
Creasy, produced by Bob Reader and narrated by Richard Baker.
