Renée Fleming stars in Massenet's classic work, a tragic story of doomed love filmed at the Bastille Opera in Paris. On her way to a convent, young Manon falls for a dashing nobleman - but her hopes for a happy life are doomed.
US soprano Fleming sings the title role, while her lover is sung by Argentinian tenor Marcelo Alvarez. Jesus Lopez-Cobos conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Opera National de Paris.
