' Two Referees or One ?
IVAN SHARPE
This evening Ivan Sharpe , always popular with listeners for his well-informed football talks, is to discuss a burning topic among football enthusiasts—one that affects all followers of the game as well as all amateur and professional football clubs.
For three years now Ivan Sharpe has been studying this subject, and he recently acted as one of the referees in a private two-referee match played by Manthester City F.C. So that he will be in a position to discuss the pros and cons not only from the point of view of an expert, but from that of a referee.
The Football Association tried out the system in an International amateur trial match the other day, and on Wednesday next the system is to be tried again-this time in the International professional trial match between England and the Rest at West Bromwich Albion ground. The monthly F.A. Council meeting is to be transferred from London to Birmingham in' order that all members can see the two-referees experiment.
Ivan Sharpe , who was a great player in his day-an English Amateur International (twelve caps)-is now at the top of his profession as a sporting journalist.
