To mark the Jubilee of the Medical Research Council Science Survey includes four programmes on research at the National Institute for Medical Research t 2: Foreign Nucleic Acids by ALICK ISAACS, M.D .
Cells respond to virus Infection by producing an anti-virus substance called interferon. The response is directed against the nucleic acid of the virus and cells respond in the same way to non-viral nucleic acids, provided they are foreign to the cells.
