A programme for everybody
Distinguished artists of Variety, music, the stage, and radio have combined to give you a specially-recorded mixed bill designed for all tastes. Among those whom you will hear are:
Mac, Larry the Lamb, Dennis the Dachshund, and their fellow citizens in a Toytown episode
Dennis Noble in selections from
Stanford's ' Songs of the Fleet'
Billy Cotton and his Band
BBC Variety Orchestra, conducted by Charles Shadwell
BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Adrian Boult
Devised and presented by Felix Feltcn
This is indeed a gala occasion, for how seldom it is that the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Adrian Boult , collaborates with the BBC Variety Orchestra, conducted by Charles Shadwell , with Billy Cotton and his Band joining in! -to say nothing of Mac as Larry the Lamb and Reginald Purdell as Dennis the Dachshund, the parts they created in ' Toytown ', classic of London Children's Hour! One wonders if such a collaboration has ever taken place on the air before.
