Eric Parker

By June most of our summer butterflies are to be found on the wing. This afternoon Mr. Eric Parker will describe the various species that are to be seen in a walk through gardens, fields, and woods, both the native English butterflies, such as the Fritillaries, and the migrants that come from abroad, such as the Red Admiral and the Painted Lady. He will also speak of the curious life history of the Large Blue, the caterpillar of which spends part of its life in ants' nests under the ground.
