Radio 1 Mailbag

on BBC Radio 1 England

Anne Nightingale features listeners' letters on almost any subject.
1 Angry ' of Staffordshire writes:
' Mailbag caters for a group of snivelling, spotty-faced young kids who masquerade round seaside resorts in cult groups, for example, punks, mods and skin-heads. Then I, as a reasonably well-educated 22-year-old, am expected to listen to their tearful stories of how society rejects them. Surely, society being normal, mentally-capable human beings can do nothing but reject somebody who parades up and down with 25 zips stitched into his oversized ex-bus conductor's trousers. Finally, the young punk has the audacity, no, the lack of intelligence, to complain when he cannot find employment. He can then blame society for his creating mayhem all over the country during what should be his working day.'
