Chris Leece and Bill Reimers are two wisecracking detectives assigned to the seemingly routine surveillance of a woman whose psychopathic ex-boyfriend has just escaped from prison. However, the duo's assignment becomes increasingly complicated when Chris falls for the woman they are watching.
