2: Cosima Wagner. Cosima Wagner ' wrote her enormous diary for her children. "Your mother intends to tell you everything," she told them. It is a chronicle of her years with Richard Wagner and a testament to the transformation in her life that had been brought about by falling in love with him. Until then, her life had been "a dreary, unbeautiful dream". Living with a genius can be quite difficult, she found, but the glory of the music made it all worthwhile.
