The Right to Choose What?
Presented by Gerald Prlestland Although the government has accepted all the proposals of the select committee considering the Abortion (Amendment) Bill sponsored by Mr James White, the campaigners for stricter control of the law, and those who wish to see it liberalised still further, continue their campaigns. The religious and moral arguments for and against abortion have been debated since the Bourne case, but given that we have now had legal abortion since 1967, the issue is more one of where consensus may be found, and whether the solution arrived at by parliament is workable.
