D Hilary Fannin 's story of four Irish women - two mothers and two daughters- spanning two generations. Anne and Sim meet in Dublin at the end of the sixties when they are seven years old, brought up in a stifling pious suburbia. They never let go oftheirfriendship, forged across the years, in spite of radically different family values and two mothers whose lives and attitudes are poles apart.
