1941-43 are the years which VAL gielgud - author, playwright, producer, and Head of Drama for BBC Radio 1928-63 - calls the time of his life.
In the darkest hours of the war demand for Radio was perhaps at its highest peak, and for Val Gielgud this was necessarily a time of great artistic creativity. He recalls these years with some of his friends and colleagues, aided by excerpts from notable productions and performances recorded at the time.
Among those taking part are CONSTANCE CUMMINGS
SIR JOHN GIELGUD , MARIUS GORING and CYNTHIA PUGHE
Produced by JOHN TYDEMAN
