4: Roots, Rockers and Rude Boys In the last ten years home-grown reggae has gained mass popularity in various guises. The Two Tone label spawned mixed-race groups playing an exciting mix of ska and punk; UB40 pioneered a more ethnic British reggae; rock groups like The Police and The Clash used the rhythms in their work; and Aswad and Steel Pulse continued to lead the roots reggae movement.
