Talk by Rosalie Glynn Grylls
Readings by Howard Marion-Crawford and John Chandos
Production by Gilbert Phelps
The speaker examines the efforts made by Shelley's son, Sir Percy Florence Shelley, and Lady Shelley to secure a biography that would fit in with the 'Shelley legend' they were building up round the Sanctum, with its various relics, at Boscombe Manor near Bournemouth, and their disappointment at the response of Shelley's old friends, Hogg, Peacock, and Trelawney. The illustrations include extracts from their books, and other material that has only recently come to light.
