Carrie's War

on BBC One London

Keeley Fawcett stars as a young evacuee in an evocative adaptation of Nina Bawden's classic novel.
Carrie and her young brother Nick are evacuated from wartime London and end up in a Welsh village, where they are taken in to a spartan home by kindly Lou and her strict brother. There they discover a completely different world of warmth and plenty at Druid's Bottom with the outrageous Hepzibah and her friends, tongue-tied Mr Johnny and Albert Sandwich. But after the death of Mrs Gotobed, friction begins to ensue among the householders.
