Yan Pascal Tortelier is one of Britain's leading conductors - the principal conductor of the BBC Philharmonic and the Ulster Orchestra. In this first programme, he talks to Joan Bakewell about his upbringing in one of the most famous musical households in France. Music includes excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations and Saint-Saens's Piano Trio performed by members of the Tortelier dynasty.
