Sudan as a teenager, Alek Wek began a new life in Britain, where - after being joined by her mother - she eventually embarked on a successful modelling career. Now, Alek and her mother make an uncertain return to the village they escaped from, in the hope of finding Alek's aunt and the grave of her father.
