Saturday-Night Theatre: Jonas

on BBC Radio 4 FM

A radio play by J.C.W. Brook
An ouija board is something like a gilded cage. The upas forms the bars, the sandalwood - sweet-smelling, gentle, kind - the gilding. A spirit can be happy there, providing it is released in time by the mystic who summoned it forth. That mystic was now slain, and the sandalwood steeped in a murdered sister's blood. The gilded cage had turned into a torture chamber, and there was no escape. The board was cursed. Julian Holloway as Max Brown, Anna Cropper as Julie Brown John Rye as Hugo Stevens, Prunella Scales as Pat Stevens David March as Mohammet Asif and Carole Boyd as the telephonist.
