Christian Belief and Natural Evolution: One hundred years ago, in July 1858, Charles Darwin and A.R. Wallace read before the Linnean Society of London the communications 'on their independent discoveries concerning evolution by natural selection.' Darwin's The Origin of Species appeared in 1859.
