Wimbledon 2000

on BBC One London

Weather permitting, today's play at the All England Club should feature action from the third round, as the first week of the tournament draws to a close with only 32 contenders remaining in both the men's and ladies' singles competitions. At this stage last year it was a great day for Britain's top two players, as Greg Rusedski and Tim Henman dispatched their respective opponents in straight sets to move into the last 16, much to the delight of the crowd. Meanwhile, fourth seed Monica Seles - who has said she will not consider herself a great player until she has triumphed at SW19 - was beaten unexpectedly by the Croatian teenager
Mirjana Lucic. Sue Barker introduces the live coverage. (S) WEBSITE: www.bbc.co.uk/wimbledon
