Appeal on behalf of the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief by Lord Birkett
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to Lord Birkett, Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, [address removed]
The immediate relief of suffering in any part of the world arising out of large-scale emergencies, such as famine, earthquake, pestilence, or war, has been the Oxford Committee's main purpose ever since its formation in 1942. Hundreds of thousands of destitute, cold, and hungry refugees and other homeless people, particularly children and the elderly, regardless of colour, race, or creed, have been helped with money grants and relief supplies distributed overseas each year. Money is needed to enable extra help to be sent in the months ahead.
