Events in the Middle East have reflected problems characteristic of the world's under-developed countries. One such country, Bolivia, has since 1952 undergone social and economic changes comparable in significance only with those achieved by the Mexican Revolution.

As President of Bolivia from 1952 to 1956, Dr. Victor Paz Estenssoro, now his country's Ambassador in London, was the main author of those changes. In this programme, introduced by George Pendle, Dr. Paz talks about problems that faced him and his government and what was done to deal with them.
