Miss Brent lives at St. Margaret's Bay, where Channel swimmers usually land. 'Most often,' she says, ' the residents of the Bay take little interest in Channel swimming, but it was different last August when Jim, the local fisherman, was piloting one of the competitors in the mass Channel swim.'
