Thanks to the phenomenal success of the Concierto de Aranjuez in 1940, all doors seemed to open before Rodrigo and his career was made. Today Donald Macleod introduces a selection of typically colourful works from this period in his life, including the piano concerto that won him the National Music Prize, a set of songs first performed by Victoria de los Angeles and a vivid series of images of Seville in his Sones en la Giralda.
