Russian violinist David Oistrakh , who was regarded as one of the most characteristic representatives of the Russian school in his day. Robert Cowan has been listening to these discs, which include concertos by Brahms, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Prokofiev, Bartok and Berg.
