A weekly programme about work in the world of science
Britain in Brussels
At the Brussels Exhibition, in the Court-yard of Invention, British contributions to science and technology since the Industrial Revolution are represented by a vast array of exhibits of British ' firsts.' These range from open-hearth furnaces and power looms to stick-on rubber soles and propelling pencils. Another display deals with the award of Nobel Prizes to British scientists-a series of some thirty major discoveries that have shaped the world of today.
C. L. Boltz who was at the opening of the Exhibition yesterday, gives his first impressions of British science in Brussels
