Farming: Co-operation in Pig-Breeding

Three years ago the University School of Agriculture at Newcastle joined with the East and West of Scotland Colleges of Agriculture and five northern farm institutes in a scheme to improve the Large White breed.
David Richardson reports on this co-ordinated pig-breeding programme which is showing quick results in the performance of both boars and gilts.
