Holiday

on BBC One London

Introduced by Cliff Michclmore
A nautical theme which is appropriate as the Boat Show settles into Earls Court.
The concept of flotilla sailing has been around for some time now and has gained in popularity. It's a way that sailing enthusiasts can broaden their experience. CLIFF MICHELMORE examines one such holiday from the 'get to know the ropes' weekend in Britain to the cruise among the Ionian Islands. There are something like 2,000 miles of navigable inland waterways in Britain. Norma Shepherd samples a cruise by traditional narrow-boat along a stretch of the Oxford Canal.
Also the first of a series by Frank Bough who will be reporting on the easy way to journey through France; taking time to explore the country rather than driving through it at speed as so many do. In the studio JOHN CARTER and NORMA SHEPHERD have the latest news and views of the travel and holiday scene.
