In 399 BC, Socrates, at the age of 70, was brought to trial on charges of impiety and of corrupting the minds of the young. He was found guilty and was condemned to death. In four of his works - Euthyphro, the Apology, Crito and Phaedo - Plato presents Socrates in court before, during and after the trial, and in prison prior to his drinking the hemlock. With LEO MCKERN as Socrates1: Socrates in Court: 'Now it is time that we were going, I to die and you, my accusers, to live; but which of us has the happier prospect is unknown to anyone but God.'
