Drive

on BBC One London

With traffic accidents the biggest killer of under-25s, Alexei Sayle pulls motorists up short with a hard-hitting series of ten-minute programmes which expose all the elements of bad driving from behaviour, danger spots and hazards to novice drivers, passengers and - the subject of tonight's first programme - speed.

"Here we all are, sophisticated examples of late-20th-century homo sapiens, at the very pinnacle of the evolutionary tree," says Sayle. "Yet the second we step on a gas pedal we become predatory, territorial animals."

The series is part of a BBC initiative which includes items on BBC Radio and a Department of Transport leaflet campaign.
