The Deserted City of the Sun God
One of Egypt's most remarkable Pharaohs - Akhenaten - built his own capital city dedicated to the worship of the Sun God at Tel el Amarna in Upper Egypt. After only 12 years it was abandoned and covered by the sands of the desert.
