View in Radio Times

Edited and introduced by James Fisher
Bird-watchers from six continents gathered earlier this month at Helsinki for the twelfth International Ornithological Congress. James FISHER introduces recordings made by some of the distinguished visitors, including Salim Ali of India and Finnur Gudmundsson .of Iceland, and also of a rare bird visitor to Finland, Blyth's reed warbler.
Guy MOUNTFORT tells of the birds he saw during an excursion to Kuusamo, a place of wild and grand scenery on the Arctic Circle, breeding place of such rareties as the broad-billed sand piper, crane, and rustic bunting.
