A Charabanc to Russia

In 1984 Belfast's Charabanc Theatre Company toured the Soviet Union with their play 'Lay Up Your Ends', about a strike by women textile workers in the Belfast mills of 1911. Judith Elliott presents an account of their journey and of the state of theatre in the cities they visited.
