This is the first of two talks in which
Dr. Ernest Vanstone will tell, in language which the layman will be able to understand, what science has done in recent years to illuminate the art of agriculture. Ho will begin this evening by dealing with the science of the soil-a subject on which he is an expert, as during his term as Head of the Chemical Department of Seale-Hayno Agricultural College, Newton Abbot , he has for years been engaged in carrying out researches on soils and fertilizers, especially the role of phosphates in the soil.
