A portrait of Rutland Boughton, the English composer, born 100 years ago on 23 January. Most people will recognise the Faery Song from The Immortal Hour when they hear it but not all will know who wrote it and few will recognise much else that he wrote. Yet in his day Boughton was as famous as Elgar.
