A QUESTION OF HISTORICITY

on Third Programme

A group of programmes on the historical element in the gospel records
2: How Much History?
A discussion between D. E. NINEHAM , Professor of Divinity at King's College. London, and T. F. Glasson. Lecturer in New Testament and Biblical Theology at New College, London
Christianity claims to be, in a unique sense, a ' historical religion,' grounded In the historicity of a person and the ' happenedness ' of particular events. In this group of programmes a number of New Testament scholars exchange views, in the light of modern criticism of the documents and their contents, about the status of the gospels as a historical record of Jesus s teaching and the events of his life.
