Roxanne

on BBC One London

Romantic comedy, starring Steve Martin, Daryl Hannah
Nelson is a small town of attractive wooden houses, tree-lined streets and lush mountain views. The most spectacular view, however, is of the astonishingly large nose of Nelson's beloved fire chief C.D. Bales. His remarkable proboscis catches the whiff of love in the air when he encounters Roxanne Kowalski, but her affections lie with shy new fireman Chris in the mistaken belief that he has brains as well as brawn. So C.D. finds himself the unwilling go-between in this affair of the heart.
Steve Martin also wrote the script, which is based on Edmond Rostand's classic play Cyrano de Bergerac. (1987)
