Probably the world's greatest virtuoso of the violin in .swing music is
Stephane Grappelly. who was at one time with the famous Quintette du Hot Club de France. lhere, indeed, with. the great
Django Reinhardt , he made his reputation not only m France but in this country to which many of the ' Hot Club ' programmes were broadcast. Now the personnel of the Hot Club Quintette is scattered, and Grappelly is in this country playing with his own quartet for broadcasting, and also with the orchestra at Hatchett's Restaurant, London. In addition to this work, Grappelly, has appeared from time to time as a soloist with other dance band combinations.
