Pianist Johnny Varro is a stride specialist who played at Eddie Condon 's famous club in New York and learned his trade from such players as Johnny Guarnieri and Joe Sullivan. He tells his story to Alyn Shipton and introduces discs by his Swing Seven, who recreate the music of John Kirby.
