2: A Brazilian in Paris
Villa-Lobos was finding it increasingly difficult to get his music performed at home in Brazil. The Brazilian government finallygave him a substantial grant in 1923 and his dream of living and working in Paris came true. Parisian music lovers were soon charmed by this wild and exotic young Brazilian. At last his music was given a chance to breathe. Presented by Donald Macieod.
