ENSA concert for war-workers, from a factory canteen. Oscar Rabin and his Band, with Harry Davis , featuring Terry Devon and the Hi-Spots. Guest artist, ' Hutch '
Oscar Rabin and Harry Davis have just celebrated their twentieth year of partnership as directors of Oscar Rabin 's Band. Years ago Davis set out to specialise in the work of dance-band presentation, which has resulted in his being acclaimed as one of the best men at this job in the country. He has an agreement with Rabin that should either partner die before the other, the widow of that partner takes his place; while the other maje partner makes himself responsible for the general welfare of the other family.
Rabin is notable for his self-effacing leadership, for he sits playing his saxophone, with the other insrrumentalistsrarely standing before them on the conductor's rostrum.
