An Entertainment of Days gone by Devised by Jack House
Less than fifty years ago the ' Penny Geggie ' existed in Glasgow and in the country districts of Scotland. The ' Geggie ' was a travelling theatre which attained enormous popularity in a country which contained comparatively few ( real ' theatres. Our fathers still remember the illustrious Mr. Collins, who ran one of the most famous of the Glasgow ' Geggies '. A descendant of Collins will take part in this programme, which will alternate scenes from the ' Geggies' with reminiscences of those who remember them.
