The development of new insecticides has given man some power to control diseases carried by insects, and eventually the control of malaria is likely to be much increased. In this talk the Director of the Ross Institute of Tropical Hygiene considers some of the implications of control and describes problems that may follow the improvement of public health in the tropics.
