Mew was a tragic figure who never married, possibly due to fears of hereditary insanity, and in 1928 she killed herself. But her poetry was admired by writers such as Thomas Hardy and her strange imagination is revealed in excerpts from her play The China Bowl. with Juliet Prew and Barnaby Kay Producer Tessa Watt
