Shanta has left Exton and Roddy has been toying with the idea of following her to India. Dr. Dale has had a distressing experience; Mrs. Devenish. who was in his care, has died under peculiar circumstances, and at the inquest Mr. Devenish has alleged negligence on the part of Dr. Dale. The Coroner refused a cremation order and the inquest is to be resumed. The pathologist urges Dr. Dale to seek legal advice.
