How Wagner Wrote and Produced The Ring

The second of three programmes by Geoffrey Skelton in which he examines the genesis of The Ring, which was first produced in 1876. Tonight he takes the story up from the composition of the third act of Siegfried to the end of Gotterdammerung. The programme includes a sketch for voice and piano finally omitted from the closing scene of Gotterdämmerung. with Marius Goring as Wagner Illustrations specially recorded by PATRICIA PRICE (soprano) and PAUL HAMBURGER (piano) Producer ROBERT LAYTON
