The Visit

on BBC One London

Last programme in the series with Desmond Wilcox. The Boy David
Second of two programmes. Reaching for Manhood
David will be 14 just after Christmas - nearly a young man. But he's still the boy whose courage and spirit has captured television viewers' hearts - more of them than ever before in BBC history asked for this film. He has endured nearly 1O major operations. He has become the legal son, and fifth child, of Ian and Marjorie Jackson, the surgeon and wife who first set out to rebuild his face and then to give him a new life.
On the brink of manhood, he is now old enough, and amusing enough, to tell us why he wanted this documentary made, on precisely what terms - and what he thinks about life and his future.
